SALES of a Lymm history book have topped the 1,000 mark.

The Wheels and the Water, the story of the village’s journey through the transport revolution, has been so popular, copies have been sent to USA, Canada and Lymm’s twin town in France.

“We have been thrilled with the book’s success,” explained author Alan Williams.

“We set out with the aim of selling enough books to be able to donate £3,000 to the Lymm Historic Transport Day fund to help secure the future of the event and we have almost achieved that.”

The book is on sale at Laura’s Choice in Lymm, Lymm Electric, High Legh Garden Centre and Waterstones in Golden Square.
