A SCHOOL is celebrating after being rated outstanding by Ofsted three times in a row.

Green Lane School in Woolston was awarded the latest rating following an inspection in May and achieved the standard in every area.

It was praised for its 'exceptionally high levels of care which ensures that progress is outstanding' while inspectors said 'the behaviour and attitudes of pupils was exemplary'.

Teachers were also praised for the 'quality of teaching which continues to improve', and the support of governors and the work of teaching assistants were also highly commended along with specific provision for pupils with autistic spectrum.

Head teacher Paul King said: “We are delighted with this achievement - for our pupils and their parents but also for Warrington as a local authority.

“I would like to pay a special tribute to the staff of the school who work tirelessly for the children here on a daily basis.

“We also see ourselves very much as part of the Warrington family of schools — we are part of that family and work closely with colleagues across Warrington.

“I would also like to thank my governors who perform a tremendous role in supporting and challenging the school and to colleagues in Warrington Borough Council who support the school in so many different ways.”

The report also stated that 'leaders constantly ensure that the quality of teaching and pupils’ achievement are outstanding and continue to improve'.

Inspectors praised the 'extremely effective arrangements are in place to ensure that all pupils are very safe and all safeguarding requirements are fully met across all the different areas in the school'.

Cllr Jean Carter, executive board member for children’s services, said: “I am delighted that Green Lane School, once again has achieved an outstanding Ofsted rating, in every single area of the inspection. The impressive report is testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment from the head teacher, teachers, and governors.”

The inspectors' only recommendation, to improve the outdoor learning opportunities in the early years, is already under way.

Green Lane caters for pupils aged four to 19 and all the pupils have statements of special educational need because of moderate or severe learning difficulties.
