RESIDENTS in Orford, Woolston, Fearnhead and Poulton are being urged to take advantage of heating help on offer

The Home Heat Helpline is a service that offers advice on grants, benefits and payment schemes some households will be entitled to over the chilly winter months.

Warrington North MP Helen Jones said 7,000 homes in the area are eligible for help to keep warm this winter.

She said: "Many people may not know where to turn for free advice on keeping their homes warm.

"One of the best ways for people to stay warm this winter is to act now, and call the Home Heat helpline on 0800 33 66 99 or visit homeheathelpline.org.uk to see if they’re eligible for help."

The helpline works alongside other services such as the Citizens Advice Bureau to give guidance on available support.

Any residents who call can be put in touch an appropriate specialist team at your energy supplier, or another advice or grant giving agency, for further help.

Lawrence Slade, chief operating officer at Home Heat Helpline said: "The research speaks for itself.

"An astounding 3.2 million households in Britain are entitled to home heating help.

"As we’re now in winter, we are urging people to make a free, confidential call to the Home Heat Helpline."

"Last year, 98 per cent of eligible households may have missed out on free advice and support because they did not call the independent Helpline."
