A KEY community group in Orford has relaunched with officials urging residents to come and find out how it can help them.

Mid Orford Resident's Association opened with new and revamped facilities on Thursday.

It is based at Orford Community Centre, Festival Avenue, where the group now has a community office open to residents for two hours every week day.

Member Danny Wheatley said: "We will be available for a chat, a brew, and any problems any residents have in Orford, we can point them in the direction of help.

"We hold regular events and trips, including an upcoming trip to see musical Blood Brothers, a trip to Bury Market, a table top sale in November, and a huge free Christmas grotto in December.

"There is bingo every Monday, and a social evening on the 2nd Saturday of every month.

"We have a weekly credit union, which is just starting and proving to be popular.

"We are always looking for extra and new friends to join us."

The work of MORA has been backed by Clr Mike Hannon (Orford - LAB).

The deputy leader of Warrington Borough Council said: "As with all resident's associations I have nothing but respect for all the hard work they put in as volunteers on behalf of their communities.

"In Mid Orford Resident's Association they have a group of officers that are second to none.

Orford councillors have been active with MORA from their early days in Hughes Avenue to their current home in Festival Avenue.

I fully support their relaunch and I hope we can encourage more residents to get involved and I'm sure once they get the taste they will be hooked.

"Kate (Hannon - Orford councillor) and I have enjoyed a number of holiday breaks which Danny refers to, and they are extremely good fun with great company.

"So if you live in the area come and join MORA and I promise you will not regret."
