PREPARE for traffic delays and disruption in Birchwood with roadworks starting in Locking Stumps Lane on Monday, October 20.
Contractors for Warrington Borough Council will resurface the road from the bridge over the M6 to the junction with Mill House Lane.
It is expected to take a fortnight and there will be daily road closures between 9.15am and 3.15pm.
The alternative route during the closures will be Crab Lane, Birchwood Way,, Birchwood Park Avenue, Warrington Road, Cross Lane and Spring Lane.
Meanwhile, roadworks started in Risley on Monday and are expected to take three weeks.
Warrington Road is being resurfaced from Daten Avenue over the M62 near the Noggin pub to a point just north of Cross Lane.
The work is mainly being carried out overnight between 8.30pm and 5.30am on week days when Warrington Road will be closed.
The diversion will take motorists via East Lancs Road, Lowton Lane Head, Winwick Lane, Newton Road, Winwick Road, Long
Lane, Birchwod Way, and Birchwod Park Avenue.
Cross Lane and Silver Lane will also be closed at the junction with Warrington Road during working hours.
Pedestrian access will not be affected but the 28A bus service will be diverted. More information is available at the service's bus stops.
