CALLANDS Community Primary School was praised for having ‘clear strategies’ to tackle issues that were flagged up by Ofsted.
The school, on Callands Road, had its first monitoring inspection on March 18 since it was graded as requires improvement in November.
Teachers were commended for ‘working well together to make the necessary improvements’.
Inspector Aelwyn Pugh wrote in a letter to acting head teacher Gail Worrall: “You have set challenging targets for all year groups and pupils of all abilities, and have introduced rigorous systems for tracking the progress of pupils.
“As acting head teacher, you are providing clear direction and leadership.”
