A 11-YEAR-OLD Latchford dance star is pirouetting his way to a renowned ballet school after impressing judges at an audition.

Ellis Webb attends Impact Dance Academy, on Knutsford Road, which is run by Anthony Jones, but has gained a place at Chester's Hammond School where he will be starting in September on a full-time basis.

After being presented with the chance to impress once he was put forward by Anthony, the youngster made no mistake of grasping the opportunity with both feet.

"He has done very well and I am just really proud of him - the hard work that he has put in has paid off," said Anthony, who has ran the school for three years.

"We have not had anybody accepted at that particular school before - what he has done is really fantastic.

"The teachers who have helped him along the way should also be proud of what they have done."

Anthony admits Ellis was somewhat taken aback by the news but said he will be keeping his feet firmly planted on the ground as he steps up preparations for the next chapter of his journey.

He added: "After being told he had been accepted, Ellis was really over the moon with it all, it is just great."

Despite the attention now geared towards September, there is no stopping for Ellis as he will be playing the part of Perks in musical Her Benny, at Runcorn's The Brindley theatre in April.

But the success of the aspiring star comes as no surprise to Anthony, who claimed his student could be the next Billy Elliot in 2012 after he landed a role in the Cinderella pantomime at St Helens Theatre Royal.
