DESPITE the weather, 25 dedicated volunteers turned out last week to support the clean up at Barrow Old Hall in Great Sankey.
In two hours, 45 bags of litter and another trailer full of scrap debris was removed from the moats surrounding the site and the bridge entrance, which was previously impassable, was restored.
David Parr, who has been organising the clean up events, said: “A huge thanks to everyone that turned up and got stuck in.
“The event was a true example of how residents and community groups can work together with public and private organisations, towards a common goal.”
Community events are now hoped to take place on the site.
