A HOOD Manor building has swapped pints for prescriptions after a converted former pub has now opened as a GP surgery.

The Great Sankey Health Centre opened its doors last week to patients in what used to be the Sankey Arms.

Dr Ravi Elaprolu said: "We are delighted to announce that our new surgery premises at Hood Manor Centre are now open.

"Our patients have waited patiently for suitable premises for a long time and we are thrilled to finally be open for business.

"Our splendid new building has been designed to offer new models of care in a community setting, bringing together a variety of health professionals and a local pharmacy under the same roof.

"We are dedicated to the health and wellbeing of the local community and our new modern, well equipped facility will help us to meet the needs of our patients now and in the future.

"We look forward to continuing to provide excellent care to our registered patients and we are very pleased that we can now welcome new patients who wish to register with us."
