A 9-YEAR-OLD from Great Sankey will have his dream come true when he steps onto the Old Trafford turf on Remembrance Day weekend.

Harley Morton, of Harrogate Close, broke into tears when he found out the news that he had been chosen as Manchester United mascot for their home game against Crystal Palace on November 8.

The Chapelford Village Primary School pupil has been a season ticket holder with the Red Devils for three years along with father Robert.

“When I told him the news, he was just ecstatic and even broke into tears,” said Robert.

“He has wanted this for a while now and for it to happen is great – I am amazingly proud.

“But I am not proud just because he has been chosen as a mascot, the fact that it is on Remembrance Day weekend is an honour."

Harley hopes to one day step out on the pitch as a player with the hope of emulating a former United star.

Robert added: “He plays for Whittle Hall Juniors as a striker but if I’m being honest he is a bit of a Roy Keane type of player, he can get quite aggressive and likes to play like him.”
