THE chairman of Great Sankey Parish Council has moved to quash rumours the land bordering Lingley Green Avenue is being closed off to residents.
Clr Tony Williams has confirmed a fence around the land known as the parish playing field will be installed but there will be a pedestrian access gate to prevent motor bikes and quad bikes driving on to the land.
He said: “I would like to reassure parishioners that the land bordering Lingley Green Avenue will continue to be accessible by the public.
“Great Sankey Parish Council is currently working to greatly enhance this community facility including the installation of new fencing with gates and improvement of the drainage of the field.”
