PARKINSON’S UK has gained a new team member from Stockton Heath to run in the Virgin London Marathon.

Edward Seddon, of Fairfield Road, joins a team of more than 200 runners who plan to raise more than £300,000 for Parkinson’s UK.

The 40-year-old solicitor hopes to raise more than £1,700 for the charity by running the 26.2-mile course on April 22.

Edward chose Parkinson’s UK because his dad John, who died in March 2009, had the condition.

He said: “There is a lot of training involved but it is really exciting to be running through London and finishing on the Mall in front of thousands of people while at the same time helping people like my dad who suffered from Parkinson’s.”
