A PIECE of potentially life-saving equipment has been donated to Penketh High School thanks to Penketh and Sankey Heritage Group.

Chairman of the group Peter Rutherford handed over the defibrillator after raising cash through the sale of heritage calendars and DVDs during the past 12 months and a grant from Igas.

Mr. Rutherford said: “We felt this would be an excellent contribution to the school from the community.”

Head teacher Ben Dunne said the heritage group was a ‘very important part of the school community and they were very grateful to them.
