A CHILDREN'S play area in Mee Brow is set to be improved for families.
The playing fields in Eden Avenue have been included in Warrington Borough Council's capital investment programme for a regeneration project.
Cllr Chris Vobe made the case for it when he met with council chief executive Steven Broomhead and Cllr Kate Hannon, portfolio holder for culture, leisure and sport.
He said: "Mee Brow has often fallen between the cracks as far as the council is concerned, because of its location between Culcheth and Glazebury.
"I have always been determined, however, that residents here should benefit from the same high quality services and amenities that are afforded to everyone.
"When councillors consulted with residents, they told us that their biggest priority for investment was the play area and sports facilities in Eden Avenue – they are simply not fit for purpose anymore.
"Now, it appears that our lobbying has been successful. The council will be driving this project forward through the capital investment programme."
"Once the project is placed in the council’s capital programme, the next stage will be to consider a range of designs and consult with people on the kind of equipment they would like to see."
