CULCHETH teens can enjoy a night at the movies as part of an initiative to curb anti-social behaviour.

Now in its third year, the popular event launches tomorrow, Friday, with a screening of a chart DVD at Culcheth High School.

The movie nights are organised by Culcheth police with seven other screenings planned throughout winter.

CSO Steve Dodd said: "We finished on a high with 80 kids attending last time."

Sainsbury's in Culcheth provides the DVD, which is picked by the students, as well as drinks and snacks.

The event runs with help from volunteers from Culcheth Community Church as well as support from LiveWire and Culcheth Educational Trust.

CSO Dodd added: "It's a nice little community event. It's good to see the kids coming along with their pizza and popcorn and making a night of it and parents love it too as it's a safe environment for them."
