WAS it a bird? Was it a plane? No, it was a superhero-themed scarecrow trail in Rixton and Glazebrook.
It was part of the annual Garden Safari which was declared a success despite thunder and downpours.
Mandy Eccles, one of the organisers, said: “More than 125 people donned raincoats and sported umbrellas to visit the 10 open gardens and went away inspired and with some fresh ideas for their own gardens.
“Refreshments, laid on by the two churches were very popular drawing visitors in from the rain for some home-made fayre and Cadishead Brass Band provided entertainment at Rixton Methodist Church.”
