MEMORABILIA from the bygone days of Britain's railways are being put up for auction in Glazebury.
The village's 27th annual auction will be held on Saturday and includes a brass whistle from a shunting yard engine and other rare railway items as well as all kinds of other forgotten gems.
Peter Caswell, one of the organisers, said: "The auction looks set to be one of the best yet.
"Donations for this popular fundraising event are coming in nicely and already a number of unusual pieces of household furniture, fittings and collectables have been received."
The auction is at Glazebury Methodist Church and viewing will be from 11am and the first lot will come under the hammer at 1pm.
For more information or to donate items contact Robert Graham on 07806 600508 or Delia and Peter Caswell on 01942 671938 or 07986 850239.
