BIRCHWOOD Lions collected almost £500 in five hours towards nursing care for cancer patients.
Volunteers have thanked the community for their great response to charity Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal.
Lions Club president Walter Pridden said: “Our Daffodil collection will help fund 25 hours of hands-on nursing care within our area.
“We are proud to be at the heart of the community, and our partnership with Marie Curie demonstrates how Lions Clubs offer vital support for local people.”
The Great Daffodil Appeal has raised more than £70 million since 1986 for terminally ill people.
