WHILE most of us were tucking into a Christmas leftovers and recovering from the festivities, Tim Crompton was jumping out of a plane.
Tim, from Crompton Opticians in Common Lane, did a sky dive in Miami on Boxing Day, reaching speeds of 120mph at two miles up.
It was part of a fundraiser for St Rocco's and he so far has more than £1,400 in sponsorship.
Tim said: "I've always wanted to do something like this but until now I've never had the chance. A friend of mine persuaded me to do it, and in this amazing location I couldn't say no.
"I've had experiences in the past of hospice care and have seen the good work they do. When a colleague suggested doing the skydive as a sponsored event for a charity, I knew immediately that I wanted to help St Rocco's."
