A CULCHETH and Glazebury parish councillor has urged Warrington Borough Council to improve the way it monitors its contractors.
Clr Matt Smith said that Holcroft Lane and Warrington Road residents have complained about a poor standard of work on hedgerow maintenance in their neighbourhood.
He added: “Road signs have been left obscured by overhanging brambles.
“Elsewhere, debris from the hedges have been left littered all over the footpaths, making it very difficult for people who walk to school that way.
“In my view, when things like this are left, the council should not call this a satisfactory job.”
Clr Smith wants a ‘checkback’ system where payment is withheld if a job is not up to scratch.
