A TEAM of adventurers from a Birchwood business have returned from a 2,400-mile charity mission to Albania.
Alex Allen, Matt Edwards and Ivan Rogan, from nuclear waste management company Sellafield travelled to the country in a 14-year-old minibus called ‘Marvin’.
The trio donated Marvin and climbing equipment to a charity climbing school set up by Christian missionaries.
The sponsored trip also saw them raise £1,000 for British Red Cross.
Travelling beyond Italy, they passed through Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro before finally arriving in Albania.
Matt, from Cinnamon Brow, said: “It was a bit tricky getting across some of the borders – Bosnia in particular – and Ivan managed to get pulled over by the police in Austria within two minutes of his first driving stint but thankfully all paperwork was in order and the police were very pleasant.
“It was all worth it in the end to give back to the charities and support all the good work they do.”
