RISLEY Moss Green Safari returns on Sunday after a year’s absence.

The community event, which has been running for 20 years, was called off due to plans to refurbish the path network.

But the Green Safari is returning with a new attraction from The Big Tree Climbing Company.

Brave visitors can climb up a tree using ropes and come down on a zip wire.

Other favourites to return include creepy crawlie show with snakes, lizards, giant spiders and bugs, drum workshop, circus skills, ferret walking, birds of prey, chainsaw sculpting, wood carving and willow weaving.

The event is organised by the rangers with help from Risley Moss Action Group.

Mersey Forest workers are also hosting a ‘party in the woods’ with dancing and drumming.

Green Safari is held between noon and 4pm with a £1 admission fee (children and senior citizens free).
