Ecology Trail

PLANS to improve the New Cut Heritage and Ecology Trail have firmly taken root after residents took part in seed planting.

The green area off Manchester Road in Woolston is being improved via a multi-agency partnership headed by the ecology trail campaign group.

Last Saturday, volunteers met to plant wildflower seeds along a section of canal-side meadow.

Future proposals include better paths, signs and information posts on wildlife in the area.

Harry Potter night

DO you know your muggles from your mermen, or Hogwarts from Honeydukes?

LiveWire is hosting an evening of activities and games with a magic theme to celebrate Harry Potter night.

Taking place on Thursday, from 6pm - 7pm, the night at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub begins with a treasure hunt in the library.

Children can then be allocated into Griffindor or Slytherin by the sorting hat, before a quiz to compete for house points.

The Harry Potter night is free but tickets are needed.

For further information go to livewirewarrington.co.uk/harrypotter.

The evening will form part of LiveWire’s celebration for National Libraries Day on Saturday, February 7.

To mark the day all LiveWire libraries in Warrington will be hosting a quiz from Monday, where participants of all ages will have to identify Harry Potter quotes.
