RESIDENTS in Cinnamon Brow and Poplars and Hulme have been warned over the consequences of potential development at Peel Hall Park.

Warrington North MP Helen Jones has sent letters to homes highlighting that a planning application could be made before Christmas for 1,400 new houses.

In the letter, the Labour MP said: " I thought I should write to you with an update on developments concerning Peel Hall.

"Despite having lost their appeal to the Planning Inspector, and the fact that the borough council have made it clear that Warrington has enough housing land allocated, Satnam are returning with another application.

" Although the proposed application is for the Poplars and Hulme ward, Poulton North councillor’s Graham Friend, Billy Line-Rowlands and Geoff Settle appreciate the huge impact that such a development would have on Cinnamon Brow and the surrounding environment and wildlife.

"It would appear that residents will have to rally once more to defend the last green space in this part of the town."

Clr Settle has set up a Facebook page for residents who wish to object to any imminent planning application.

He said the fight against Peel Hall development page will serve as a tool to keep neighbours informed of any developments.

Mrs Jones suggests notes from meetings which have already taken place indicate access for houses could be made off Blackbrook Avenue, Birch Avenue, Elm Road and Poplars Avenue.

Satnam lost an appeal to build 150 houses in 2013.
