LONGBARN Residents’ Association says it has been forced to organise a litter pick as Warrington Borough Council does not deem it to be a priority.
Geoff Orange, chairman, said residents collected 14 bin bags of rubbish.
He said: “As the removal of litter does not seem to be a high priority to our council, LRA decided to take matters into their own hands.
“LRA decided they were not prepared to allow their area to become covered in litter.
“Seeing a group of residents picking up litter in their high visibility jackets we hope sends a message to those who discard cans, cigarette packes and other refuse to think about the way in which they spoil the environment when they should be taking their litter home with them.”
