A RSPCA worker has spoken of his shock after his cat was attacked near to his home in Burtonwood.
Liam Lomax, of Jackson Street, was devastated to find his two-year-old cat Joe had been mauled by a dog on February 26 at around 11.30am.
The 22-year-old said: "I was just gobsmacked and I was really upset when the vet explained what had happened.
"I'm sure someone must have seen what happened or know the dog who did this."
Joe suffered puncture wounds to his lungs and numerous bite marks on his body.
While the cat has made a full recovery, Liam has urged dog owners to always be aware of where their pets are to avoid further attacks.
