KIND-HEARTED youngsters at Burtonwood Primary School decided to do something new and wear blue to raise awareness of the challenges people face when diagnosed with dementia.
The school on Green Lane decided to support Dementia Awareness Week as some staff and pupils have seen loved ones affected by the illness.
During the week, pupils in year five watched a video documenting the life of a woman with dementia as she went about her day-to-day life and the obstacles she faced.
The children also donned their finest blue-coloured clothing and had a cake sale to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society.
