WINWICK Athletic netted £2,200 at its annual sporting gala dinner with all the money raised donated to Cancer UK.
The night, which was organised by Brian Cookson, was hosted to raise vital funds for the charity, which is dedicated to completing research to try and find a cure for cancer.
Winwick Parish Cllr Kath Cookson said: "The reason behind the choice in charity is that I've recently lost my dad to lung cancer and our treasurer's wife is recovering from cancer also.
"It's such a terrible disease and we wanted to help in some way."
