CHILDREN'S reading club hailed as novel idea to get the youngsters excited about books.

A new story time session has been launched at Burtonwood Library on Chapel Lane to ignite children's love of reading from an early age.

The group, which held its first session earlier this month, will take place every Monday during term time only from 2.30pm to 3pm for pre-school children.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

The group organises a range of activities which aim to increase children’s attention, listening and communication skills and help prepare them for nursery and school.

The regular reading club will still meet once a month on a Thursday from 5.45pm to 6.45pm at Burtonwood Library.

As the session is not held on the same week each month, anyone interested is urged to call 226563 for more information.
