road safety meeting at poulton north council

POLICE and Poulton North councillors have held a roadside meeting with residents amid concerns over safety.

Homeowners on Blenheim Close, Avery Close and Viscount Close are protesting at drivers using the estate as a short cut.

Clr Graham Friend (LAB) said: “They believe that drivers are travelling too fast and using their estate as a ‘rat run’ while driving without due care and attention.

“The roll out of 20mph speed limits are not planned for this estate for another two to three years.”

CSO Stephen Bingham and Mark Tune, traffic manager for Warrington Borough Council, also attended.

Surveys will now be taken to assess how much traffic is passing through the residential area.
