A GROUP of scouts learned about the perils of being homeless by camping out in makeshift shelters overnight.
1st/14th Warrington West Scouts, based in Orford, made a sleeping area using wheelie bins, borrowed from Warrington Borough Council, cardboard and newspaper.
The youngsters then camped next to Fairfield Community Centre, Willis Street.
Sue Chadwick, group leader, said: "The scouts wanted to experience life on the streets.
"We were helped with this project by Fairfield Community Centre, who allowed us access to facilities.
"Although we know homeless people don't have access to many things while living on the street, we did get a real life experience of cold, damp and discomfort.
"Please choose a charity for the homeless and donate, to try to help someone get a safe, warm and happy home this Christmas."
