VANDALS are terrorising an Orford estate leaving families too scared to allow children to pay outside.

That is the claim of Chris Brookes, a resident on Quebec Road, where a spate of anti-social behaviour by yobs has been reported.

The dad-of-two's new car - a Kia Sportage - was broken into on Wednesday night, with cash taken.

Mr Brookes, who has two children aged four and five, and a pregnant fiancée, says he has also seen youths with knives damaging fences, and a bin set on fire.

The self-employed roofer has set up CCTV to monitor his car, van and house.

He said: "It's all being done by vandals and they are terrible.

"It happens that frequently now we have said we will have to move.

"It's not nice and you can't let your kids out.

"Something happens every night."

The stress has left wife-to-be Rebecca in tears.

"It's getting beyond a joke now, residents have had enough" said Mr Brookes.

"The police don't do enough on this estate.

"The vandals see CSOs and they just laugh because they know, really, they can't do anything."
