VOLUNTEERS are being sought for a pond conservation project on Saturday.
Friends of Gorse Covert Mounds will be working on improving the condition of the pond at the end of Inglewood Close.
Nigel Balding, chairman of the Friends group, said: "This is a very important area for amphibians of all types and in conjunction with the Woodland Trust we plan to use hand tools to coppice some willow and tidy up in a way that will minimise disruption to wildlife."
Volunteers will meet at the site car park at 10am with appropriate clothes, footwear and food and drink. Gloves and tools will be provided.
