SUMMER will be packed with activities in Oakwood thanks to a grant of more than £6,500.
Funds were allocated to community projects officer Bernadette Bell from the ‘Awards for All’ scheme.
The £6,586 pot will first be used to improve the offering at Oakwood Fun Day at Oakwood Park on Saturday, July 19, from noon to 4pm.
It will then help in August when an Edwardian picnic is held on the village green to commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.
August will also see the village green used for traditional games every Friday with help from Warrington Wolves Foundation.
