A COUNCILLOR is campaigning to have more potentially life-saving defibrillators in Culcheth, Glazebury and Croft.

Clr Paul Campbell, from Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council, recently teamed up with North West Ambulance Service to install a defibrillator in The Village Club in Wigshaw Lane, Culcheth.

A defibrillator delivers electrical energy to the heart in the event of a cardiac arrest.

Clr Campbell said: “It has been great to see others taking up the challenge locally with fundraisers, schools and clubs all getting involved.

“Culcheth, Glazebury and Croft villages are on the very edge of the emergency response areas for specialist heart attack teams so it is vital we have more of these defibrillators easily accessible and more people trained in their use.

“I will be asking that Warrington Borough Council continue to support this very important campaign.”
