A FORMER Great Sankey High School pupil is on target to break the current world record of 32 days rowing the 3,000-mile distance across the Atlantic Ocean.

Proud mum Elaine said 21-year-old Matt Inglesby has been contending with storms and 118 degree heat, which at the time was the second hottest place on the planet after Adelaide in Australia, alongside the seven man crew during the charity challenge.
