COBBS Infant School pupils were informed of the dangers associated to speaking to strangers as part of an annual talk.

PCSOs Dave Mahon and Linda Garner delivered the Stranger Danger discussion to five classrooms in the school - each lasting 15 minutes.

Home Office guidance of which areas to cover during the talk, and how to help children learn the importance of the issue, was given.

"I have been in this job for eight years now and there are problems on this topic so it is important to help the children so that they know what to do," said PCSO Mahon, who patrols the Appleton area.

"If children get lost, they may be unsure of just what to do so the aim is to help them with that.

"We highlight the issues every year - it is something that is always a high priority for us as there are potential dangers for children speaking to strangers."
