AN Appleton woman who fell out of love with some aspects of teaching is thriving in her new role as owner of a toy-selling company.

Lisa Bradburn, aged 46, previously taught primary school children in London for eight years - a job she treasured after reaping the benefits of seeing children progress each week.

But it was the growing frustration of additional paperwork and less time spent in the classroom which proved to be the catalyst for Lisa to embark on a new path and create What2buy4kids.

After setting up the online store, selling toys for 1-12 year olds, the mum-of-three admitted she was surprised to see it grow so quickly, but is relishing every part of the job.

"I went into teaching for the love of children but then I started to spend less time with the children and more time doing things such as filling forms - that's when my passion started to go," she said.

"But I still wanted to do something to do with children and families and so this is perfect for me.

"I can't believe the volume it has reached, I have been supplying thousands of toys a week and had to get staff in to help.

"It is great and sometimes I wonder if only I was a child again, as the toys are brilliant."

The career change gave Lisa a new lease of life and she offered her own advice to others who are debating whether to make a major change.

"It is so different to teaching but I absolutely love it and I am never bored," she added.

"So many people start working at a young age now so it is important to find out what you want to do.

"I would advise people to do something that they like - life is too short not to."
