A charity fundraiser who has worked to raise funds after being injured serving in the Armed Forces had extra support from Warrington Collegiate students.

Phil Packer stopped off at the Winwick Road campus on Friday on day 144 of a gruelling 2,012-mile ‘Brit 2012 Challenge’ walk.

He suffered a severe spinal cord injury in 2008 and has gone on to raise millions and picked up the Helen Rollason Award at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

The walk aims to encourage businesses to donate to a Brit Centre of Inspiration for young people.

Phil said: “I feel humbled and privileged that the students shared their personal experiences of adversity with me.”
