Part of the two crews organised by brothers Nigel and Stuart Dearden prepare for battle
SIBLING rivalry resumes when brothers Nigel and Stuart Dearden battle it out at St Rocco’s Hospice’s dragon boat race.
Together Nigel and Stuart, who work for Warrington Borough Council’s refuse department, have raised more than £18,000 over the past three years through sponsorships and fundraising events.
They will be entering teams ‘Slimloaders’ and ‘The A Team’ which are made up of their council colleagues for a fourth year hoping to pick up the gold medal in the race.
Helen Latham, events fundraiser for St Rocco’s, said: “We are delighted Slimloaders and The A Team will be joining us again for the dragon boat race. They put a lot of effort into raising funds for St Rocco’s and we are very grateful for the support.”
The boat race will take place at Warrington Rowing Club, Howley, to raise money for the hospice on Sunday, August 5.
