Volunteers needed for young people's services

VOLUNTEERS are needed to help brighten the future of youg people’s lives.

The council’s children and young peoples services volunteering team is looking for adults to become mentors for teens aged 16 to 19 and give them the extra bit of support needed to get them in education, employment or training.

A spokesman said: “Often all that is needed is for a young person to have a constant and supportive adult who will listen to them without judgement.

“Someone who will advise and steer them, help them set goals and raise their self esteem, and importantly stay with them on their journey until they find their feet.”

Mentors will be fully trained and supported and will gain valuable coaching experience and personal satisfaction.

For details call 636856 or e-mail volunteering@warrington.gov.uk.

Deadline is May 18.
