THE 14th annual energy saving week will take place next week with the support of Warrington Borough Council.

The initiative will be giving groups, organisations and residents the necessary advice to manage and reduce energy use and save money, whether at home, at work, or travelling.

Each day of the week will focus on a different theme with Monday being the launch day and Tuesday honing in on insulation, Wednesday on micro-generation, Thursday on Energy Saving Trust recommendations and Friday on transport .

Clr Mike Biggin, executive board member for climate change and public protection, said: "Everyone can do something during energy savings week to take control of their energy use, whether it’s walking or using the bus service, instead of taking the car or investing in cavity wall insulation.”

The Eco Hut, at the back hall of Warrington Market, will be open on a part-time basis to give visitors free energy efficiency advice.
