YEAR 10 pupils from a Latchford school found themselves bogged down in a murder mystery case at a forensic science workshop.

Youngsters from Sir Thomas Boteler CE High School turned crime scene investigators on an Aimhigher Cheshire and Warrington organised bog body mystery trip held at Manchester Museum.

Armed with laboratory equipment the pupils used science to determine whether imaginary remains belonged to a missing woman from Wilmslow.

Teresa Wong, Aimhigher’s vocational development officer, said: “They now have a much greater appreciation of how science can be used in real-life situations and gained confidence in using laboratory equipment outside a school environment.”
