WILDERSPOOL A NURSERY school has been praised for its outstanding care for youngsters by Ofsted.
The Willows Nursery School on Wilderspool Causeway are celebrating after being judged outstanding by inspectors who visited the nursery last month.
Inspector Susan Birkenhead, said that the school had excellent procedures that meant every child was involved and that a good commitment to staff’s development contributes to a high standard of care for children.
She said: “Highly effective procedures encourage relationships with parents, carers and other providers, which significantly contributes to children's care and learning.”
The report went on to say that children at the nursery, which opened in 2004, become active learners through the support of staff ‘as they participate in an excellent balance of adult led and child initiated activities’.
In total they received outstanding marks in all but one category in the report, gaining a ‘good’ mark for the criteria ‘how well are children helped to stay safe?’.
The nursery, which currently has 89 children on its roll, was also praised for its health promotion for youngsters including healthy food and exercise promotion.
Nursery manager Sue Shovelton said: “I would like to thank all of my team for all their hard work and dedication to the nursery, of which is shown within our Ofsted inspection.”
