TWO Lymm supporters of a children's charity enjoyed a royal appointment.

HRH The Countess of Wessex visited volunteers at Brainwave children’s charity to celebrate the achievements of key volunteers.

Senior volunteer Linda Monk and Brainwave ambassador Aiden Byrne both received certificates from the countess.

She presented Linda with her reward for seven years of voluntary work with the charity, while Aiden was recognised for raising hundreds of pounds for Brainwave.

Linda Monk said: “I am honoured and humbled to receive this recognition from the Countess of Wessex for my seven years of volunteering at Brainwave, it is an amazing charity to be involved with and extremely rewarding to be able to support."

A celebration meal took place at Manchester House, run by Aiden, and included a three-course meal followed by a raffle with the fundraising event raising a total of £4,800 for the charity.
