A LATCHFORD traders group looking to bring back the 'community connection' is preparing to step up its plans to make change.

Latchford Village Warrington, which is made up of 13 business owners after forming last October, is focused on revitalising the area.

But as the battle to get residents more involved in 'community life' continues, plans to increase awareness of the group are firmly taking shape.

"We want to make it a nicer place to live and get people from other parts of the town to come here and look around," said Daniel Pala, owner of Libero Net and one of the village traders.

"It is about getting people to know more about what things are going on around Latchford."

The group has created a logo and hope to put it on shopping bags from the stores involved to improve brand awareness.

A Facebook group has also been set up to keep residents informed of plans each week and is already proving to be popular after racking up over 300 'likes'.

Another trader involved, Teresa Thomas, who owns Picturesq, added: "It is about connecting with the local people and making everyone feel welcome here.

"The group is still quite new so we are still working to build up the brand but are confident that we can do that."

Cllr Steve Wright (LAB - Latchford East) is also getting involved to assist in improving the state of the area.

He is currently working on ways to help bring an end to litter issues in his ward.

A website outlining the work of Latchford Village Warrington is set to go live later this month.
