GARDENERS can help boost their green space before winter comes with thanks to a scheme in Latchford.
Free compost will be on offer from the car park in Victoria Park this Saturday to all who want some of the soil rich in nutrients fit for your shrubs.
A compost giveaway earlier this year proved highly popular with gardeners so it is first come first served on Saturday from 9am.
The event, organised by Warrington Borough Council, will use up compost which has been created through the local authority's green bin collection.
The compost is being supplied by Whitemoss, the company that composts the town’s garden waste.
The compost will be loose so anyone wanting some will need to bring a shovel and either buckets or heavy duty bags to take it home with them.
