THERE was a hat full of awards for Hatton after the village scooped four recognitions at an awards ceremony.
Hatton Parish Council had quadruple success at The Cheshire Community Pride awards.
They picked up a little gem award for their wild flower verges and flower beds and were also runners up to Siddington in the best kept village with a population under 400.
Hatton was also highly commended on the Cheshire Constabulary Safer Competition.
There was also a personal triumph for Ron Beever, who was highly commended in the community champions awards for his work to help the community, including setting up the village phone box library – itself a previous little gem winner at the awards.
Margaret Winstanley, deputy chairman of Hatton Parish Council, said: “Ron runs numerous projects including luncheon clubs for people in the pub so it can bring some people who might feel isolated together.
“We are thrilled. It’s something we have entered for a number of years with some years more successful than others but this time we picked up the most recognitions.
“We have a really active community with the parish council and community association and there are plenty of people who get involved in making the village a better place too.”
