GENEROUS slimmers from Great Sankey have gained £554 for charity while losing pounds.
The Great Sankey Slimming World group, which meet every Monday and Wednesday at Kings Community Centre and Eagle Sports and Social Club, raised the cash over the last 18 months by popping their small change in a special collection box.
The money will go to Slimming World’s fundraising arm SMILES (Slimmers Making It a Little Easier for Someone) which is supporting Cancer Research for the second year running.
Jenny Osborne, who runs the group, said: “I’m so proud of my members. Not only have they lost an incredible amount of weight they’re raising money for charity too."
