YOUNGSTERS at Sankey Valley St James Primary School were feeling top of the class after being presented the 'Church and school partnership award'.
The Bishop of Warrington Richard Blackburn visited the school on Dorchester Road to present the prize which celebrates the strong links between the school and their church St. James Westbrook. Head teacher Deb Feltham added: "The school became a church aided school in 2002 and the award highlights the wonderful relationship that has developed between the two and how much work has been done to reach this level of joint commitment.
"The award was received by the many children who attend Messy Church and Good News after school clubs as well as Martin Thorpe, Vicar at St. James’ Westbrook and Rev. Alan Litton the school's chairman of governors."
